THIS MORNING OUR MISSOURI MILK BOARD INSPECTOR CALLED AND TOLD US THAT WE MUST DESTROY ALL OF OUR REMAINING CHEESE IN ORDER TO GET BACK INTO BUSINESS.
There have never been any illnesses in our 30 years of production, and thus far none of the authorities has done confirmed testing on our cheese. Our cheese that was allegedly tested in California had been in California for well over 4 months, and no-one seems to know how it was handled for 7 weeks between being placed in an un-iced cooler (when it was confiscated) and when it was allegedly tested. We understand that by California statutes, confiscated food is supposed to be tested right away, and that we were supposed to have our own sample to test ourselves, but neither of these things was done. The FDA did test our cheese plant and milk barn by taking 100 swabs from equipment, walls, the floor, etc., and having them tested, and they found nothing. But now our inspector has told us that we must destroy ALL of the 1000's of pounds of cheese we still have in order to get back into business. We said that before selling any of our cheese, we would have it tested, batch by batch, to confirm that it is good, but we were told that the cheese would still be 'suspect'. We asked them, "Then, what good IS the testing?" No reply.
We now wait for the written order from the Missouri Milk Board.

Folks, I am so very, very sorry that this is happening. It's an absolute nightmare, and don't know what to say.
Are the positions on the MMB appointed, or voter selected? Who else can we call or write?
How much is a pound of cheese? How many pounds of cheese are you being forced to throw away?

So how do we get these jamochs to do their job, which I assume (perhaps wrongly) is to enforce the laws, not act as pawns for big corporations?
Well, it's useless to write to the original Party Girl again (oh, how I look forward to voting ol' Claire out), but another note to Sam Graves, Brad Lager, and anyone else I can think of could do something.
First things first, though, and we have to remember to keep stormin' the gates of Heaven. God is still God.

The whole lot of them need to be sued for everything they own. They need to be held personally responsible for maladministration of the law. They need to be dealt with so severely (through the legal system) that they never want to cross this line again. They need to be taught that they are not above the law, but as public servants are subject to it.

What happens to the cheese if they do have to destory it. Can they donate it or give it away? If they didn't find anything wrong with the cheese why do they have to destory it? How did this all get started? It sounds like big brother trying to push little brother a side so big brother can have it all to themselfs.
While I can't speak for Morningland, I would imagine that "destroy" means to "destroy", as in totally demolish. See IVY's post about a PayPal sponsorship (donation). We need to help the folks at Morningland and stand up against this wrong.

Have you contacted the Farm to Consumer legal defense people? You obviously have a very good case of being singled out for going against the grain. I'm sharing your story on my blog and donating to your cause. How much trouble would you be in if you just started selling off the cheese despite their claims?

I will do what I can to help from a distance. I am in Nor. Cal. The county I live in Mendocino has made it legal for residents to grow 12 marijuana plants for personal consumption. Now I don't give a rip what one does to themselves. But I see a great inequity in it is legal for one to grow it, smoke it , and get in a vehicle loaded to the gills and take out the oncoming vehicle BUT it is illegal for me to see a consenting adult of 21 years of age a gallon of raw goat milk off my farm. Who Stole My Country???

Our country has been taken away from us, bit by bit, by people who feel it is right to dictate what others can do in their personal lives, and sought legislation to do just that. (BTW, one is more likely to drive drunk than high on weed, but that's a whole 'nuther story.)
ANYway, the same folks who feel they can legislate against consensual "crimes" are the ones who handed away our freedoms. They had help from the people who were willing to trade OUR liberty for the illusion of safety.
You're right. There's a huge disparity.
What I find frightening is the folks who are backing down after seeing what's happening to the Dixon's and the Bechard's. They're playing right into the hands of those who would control our food supply.
Me, I never really planned to distribute goat milk before this. Now, my plans are definitely changed in that I will exercise my right to distribute milk from my farm. I have two does now, and pray for my Snubian to have 3 does. I'll keep them ALL and breed them, and I'll sell, give, barter as much raw goat milk as my girls will produce.

Ivy my "pot" illustration was for the purpose of saying "how many things that are done in this country legally that are blatantly harmful to the population". That is just one and I know we could all go on and on.
I am , as my children love to remind me, a child of the '60s. Me thinks that what this country needs is a good, old fashioned Revolution. When are the citizens of this country going to get fed up?

It's going to take a LOT to wake people up. The masses have come to expect their bread and circuses from Big Bro Govt, not caring from whose pocket the $$$ comes, and expecting care from cradle to grave - no personal responsibility involved.
What I'm reading on a lot of websites scares me. The Current Administration is trying to discredit those who are taking a stand with accusations of treason and violence, playing it for all its worth.
God save us. I know He judges nations, but I don't want to feel the whupping that's coming up.
