SEPTEMBER 17, 2010 - STILL ON HOLD...

Posted by morninglanddairy on September 17, 2010 at 6:41 PM

Dear Customers, Friends, et al,

The embargo on our cheese still remains.  Two FDA officials came again to Morningland yesterday (Thursday) and closed their investigation, but informed us, at the same time, of their plans to open a new investigation next week. One FDA official informed us that, despite the ongoing embargo of our cheese, that the FDA had been given permission to remove cheese for testing purposes on Thursday.  When we explained that we had made the decision to have all of (at least) our present cheese tested before shipping, and that, due to the embargo, we could not do testing yet and therefore we have no cheese to sell at present, the FDA agent threatened to note our reply as a refusal and said that forceful action might then be taken.  After phone calls were exchanged between the agent and her superiors, the agent informed us that testing of our cheese would be done at a later date.

No cheese producing, no cheese sales, because we are still on hold...

Thank you for your continued prayers, patience, and support.

Joseph, Denise, Jedadiah, Morningland employees and families

Oh, dear.

Why are they setting up a Catch-22? This is so very wrong in so very many ways!

Is there anything we can do? Someone to whom we can write? Do you want this publicized?

There has to be a way to make these people stop their persecution of you and your dairy!

Good luck with your fight. I miss your Italian Colby cheese with the herbs!!

I was buying it from an organic "non-GMO" food store here in Florida. My grandparents owned a dairy farm in Conn., and I spent alot of time there as a kid, so I have enjoyed reading your web site. If I were in a dairy state, I would seek out a local source, but I'm not.

The local/raw/organic food movement is very important. I am a long time vegetarian, near vegan, except for raw milk cheese, and occasionally pasture/grass fed butter or cream, which I'm unable to find raw locally.

We can't allow the Frankenfood, Monsanto and its ilk, factory farms, genetically modified foods etc. to further destroy our food supply and access to real food. Not to mention the terrible envronmental destruction that their businesses cause, and the system of lobbyists and unethical politicians that use our tax dollars for corporate welfare and subsidizing their filthy businesses. (I'm an environmentalist, not a tea party member.)
